Children are important. They are part of our church now. Our children stay in the service for the first 20 minutes during worship, celebrations and notices. There are children’s programmes that run the length of the sermon. The purpose of these programmes are to support parents in the discipleship of their children and help kids feel part of the church through using biblical, relevant and child-focused curriculum that invites personal faith and growth.

The following groups meet on Sundays during the Darfield service.

Crèche – for 0-2 years. A creche is offered for little ones. This is held in the foyer from partway through the service when the children leave for their programmes. Parents are also welcome to have their little ones stay with them in the service, or sit in the foyer watching over them and with a view of the service.

Sunday School – for 3-5 year olds. A separate programme is provided reinforcing their worth to God, through active play, storytelling and songs.

Kingz Kidz – for 6-11 year olds. This programme aims to get them connected to God and growing in their relationship with God and service with him, using a combination of instructional teaching, games, crafts, prayer, memorising Scripture and discussion.

Ignite+ – for 12-13 year olds. These young people are in transition to staying in services and finding places to serve in the church. We have a fortnightly group during the service to encourage and build faith.

The children regularly share with the rest of the church what they have been learning.

The Glenroy service also has a children’s programme that runs during the sermon.
